For this project, the overarching theme that we chose to visualize was energetic, high energy, and bubbly sounds. We each chose a different song to base our animation off of, and worked mostly separately up until the point of creating the zine.

Getting feedback from the class, people responded very well to the typographic visuals and this typeface called Cubics, which featured hexagonal letterforms. At this time, I decided on a song to base my animation on, and it’s called Firestones by Kygo. This song has a nice steady build up leading to a part of the song that is very instrumental. The next step was to think of how to visualize these sounds. I remember I watched videos of piano synthesia for movie soundtracks that I like. I thought that was an interesting way to visualize sound.
